Infrared Thermography

Electrical System And Circuit Board Applications Building, Roof, and Plant Maintenance Applications
Using an infrared camera to capture thermal images of electrical devices for the purpose of measuring surface temperature is called IR thermography. The IR camera can capture images of circuit board hot spots and electrical shorts in circuit board layers. The IR camera can also determine your systems thermal management effectiveness in packaging heat producing electronic equipment. An IR camera provides precision non-contact temperature measurements down to 0.1 C accuracy. With an IR image you know instantly the hot spot in your system. IR Thermography has wide spread use as a plant predictive maintenance tool. Applications of the IR camera include: detection of loose electrical connections, overheating motor windings, hot bearings, faulty circuit breakers, faulty insulation, and water leaks in flat roofs. Qsigma Associates can provide your company “IR Thermal Surveys” of your equipment or building to improve your reliability and prevent costly plant or equipment shut downs.
